On July 19, 2018 Vermeer Corporation, a large industrial and agricultural equipment manufacturer, took a direct hit from EF3 tornado. It took only minutes for the storm to rip apart more than 400,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space, destroy hundreds of vehicles and create a devastating scene that led to company leaders, law enforcement and local hospitals preparing for hundreds of casualties.

The minutes, hours and days following the storm required crisis communication to help direct team members to safety, coordinate the efforts of the community and build confidence in leadership to lead through the destruction.
