Public relations professionals regularly speak out on behalf of their organizations and clients. In fact, the practice of PR is rooted in the First Amendment protection of freedom of speech. While corporate expression is afforded only some of the same legal rights as individuals, the best PR pros know when to invoke their clients’ right to free speech and when to offer caution on certain speech activities. We’re pleased to invite you to join us for this month’s Friday FYI in Ames for a discussion facilitated by Julie Roosa, Iowa State University’s First Amendment Specialist, on current issues in the First Amendment and how they relate to public relations. This event is free for members and non-members.
