Celebrating Ethics Month

September is the month PRSA shines an additional spotlight on ethics. PRSA has long been a champion of ethical practices in public relations. Through educational programs, resources, and ethical guidelines, PRSA equips its members with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate ethical challenges effectively.

For example, PRSA has created a new Ethics Month page as a central hub for public relations (PR) professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of ethics in public relations. Here, you'll discover articles, case studies, and thought-provoking content that address the ethical dilemmas encountered in PR. The page also highlights upcoming programs, webinars, and events dedicated to ethics, providing valuable opportunities for learning and discussion.

Participating in Ethics Month is a meaningful way for PR professionals to reaffirm their commitment to ethical conduct. Here's how you can get involved:

·       Explore PRSA's dedicated Ethics Month page.

·       Engage in discussions and share your insights and experiences on social media using the hashtag #EthicsMonth.

·       Consider mentoring newcomers to the PR field and helping them understand the importance of ethical conduct.

·       Attend webinars and programs that focus on ethical challenges and solutions in PR. Our chapter is hosting our next Friday FYI program with Eric Kwame Adae who is speaking on Being Human Being: CEO Activism, Public Relations for Social Responsibility, and the African Ethos. Additional webinars and events can be found on PRSA’s Ethics Month page.

Ethics Month serves as a reminder of the principles that underpin our profession and the importance of upholding ethical standards. By embracing ethical excellence, we contribute to the strength and credibility of our field while fostering trust with our stakeholders. Together, we can ensure that ethics remain at the forefront of public relations, guiding us towards a more responsible and trustworthy future.
