PRSA Hosts In-Person Leadership Assembly

December 4, 2022
Author: Ryan Johnson, APR, PRSA Iowa delegate

PRSA Leadership Assembly is the organization’s annual business meeting. Delegates from PRSA Chapters across the country meet to elect the next year’s national board members. Bylaw amendments are discussed and voted on by delegates.

This year’s meeting was the first in-person Leadership Assembly since 2019, and there was a positive vibe as attendees were excited to be together in person. One of the highlights from the meeting was a membership update. The national PRSA membership is at its highest level in the past 16 months. That’s positive news after a challenging two years during the pandemic.

I was encouraged by the PRSA Chair, Dr. Felicia Blow, and her updates on the next strategic plan. Various taskforce members provided information about initiatives being worked on in committees to help strengthen the PRSA at the national level. The hope is the success will carry down to the sections, districts and chapters.

At the end of the business meeting, it was announced that the 2023 PRSA Leadership Assembly and ICON will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, in October.
