Take Action: Earn Your APR
April is Accreditation Month and it’s a great time to take the next step in your public relations career. Through the process of earning your Accreditation in Public Relations, you will build skills in ethics, strategy and the RPIE process—research, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Earning your APR shows others that you know your craft and can think ahead in a fast-moving world. You will gain valuable information, feel more confident in your decisions, build your professional network, and grow professionally. Adding the APR credential behind your name indicates you have the knowledge, skills and abilities of a well-qualified public relations professional.
When you receive notification of your APR credential, you will know that your effort was worth it. You will approach your work with greater strategy skills. You’ll plan with more purpose, connect your work to bigger goals, and create stronger results. Optimizing your new skills will help you feel more confident in how you guide your organization and build relationships.
The APR journey takes time and focus, yet the payoff stays with you. As a member of the Iowa PRSA Chapter, you won’t do it alone. More than 50 accredited members are here to support you, answer questions, and cheer you on. Their guidance can make a big difference, especially when things get busy. While the chapter’s prep course was just completed, don’t let that stop you. There are many other available resources.
