Thank You

This month marks the end of my three terms as a PRSA Iowa Chapter delegate and the 2024 ethics chair. It’s been a privilege to represent our Chapter at the PRSA Assembly in Dallas, Nashville and Anaheim. Attending the annual meeting enhanced my understanding of the organization and gave me the opportunity to network with other Chapter leaders in our district. We are fortunate to have a strong PRSA Chapter, thanks to past and current leadership who have guided us, recruited new members and kept us financially responsible.

I am stepping away from the PRSA Iowa board after serving the Chapter for the past 10 years. It’s bittersweet because I have so many good memories serving the board and our members. Special thanks to Laura Sprague, APR, for getting me started on the board as the newsletter editor. The experience eventually led me to serve as Chapter president in 2020 during a challenging time for PRSA, our Chapter and our members.

Dawn Buzynski, APR, and Jane Keairns, APR, will be your Chapter delegates in 2025. I’m confident that Dawn and Jane will do a great job representing us. Additionally, we will have representation at the national level: Kevin Waetke, APR, Fellow PRSA, is the PRSA treasurer for 2025.

Thank you again for the opportunity to serve. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for our Chapter.

Ryan Johnson, APR | PRSA Iowa Chapter Delegate and Ethics Chair
