Member Spotlight: Alisanne Struck
1. Tell me a little about yourself.
My name is Alisanne Struck, and I’m the Strategic Marketing Specialist at Morningside University. I earned my degree in Public Relations from the University of Northern Iowa, where I was an active member of PRSSA.
2. What drew you to public relations in the first place?
When choosing my college major, I knew I wanted to pursue something related to business. At the same time, I loved writing and wanted a career that combined both passions. Fortunately, I had some amazing mentors in college who introduced me to public relations, and it turned out to be the perfect fit.
3. What has your career path looked like? What is your current role?
I began my career in a fully remote agency setting. While I enjoyed the work, I realized I missed face-to-face interactions and decided to transition into higher education. In my current role at Morningside University, I manage all executive communication pieces, public relations initiatives, and serve as the lead editor for our alumni magazine, The Morningsider.
4. How did you get involved with PRSA Iowa?
I loved being part of UNI’s PRSSA during college and couldn’t wait to join PRSA as a professional.
5. What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
“Find the right people and the right place.” This mantra from my dad has guided me throughout my career.
6. What do you like to do in your free time?
I live in a 1902 farmhouse and spend much of my free time working on home improvement projects with my husband. When I’m not renovating, I enjoy trying out new TikTok trends or traveling!
