Bruhn inducted into PRSA College of Fellows
Dr. Kelly Bruhn, APR, Fellow PRSA has been inducted into the Public Relations Society of America’s prestigious College of Fellows. Bruhn, the associate dean of Drake University School of Journalism and Mass Communication, has been accepted into this elite group of communication professionals in recognition of her dedication to the public relations profession and her demonstrated commitment to sharing her knowledge and experience with others.
Bruhn is an award-winning communicator. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in public relations strategy, PR campaigns, and research. Prior to joining the Drake faculty, Bruhn created award-winning campaigns for Verizon Wireless and various nonprofit organizations. She is active in PRSA serving as a national leader in the Public Relations Society of America, where she represents PRSA on the Universal Accreditation Board. She has served as PRSA Iowa president and chair of the PRSA Educators Academy. She has been honored as national PRSA Outstanding Educator, an award given annually to one PR professor in the country.
A rigorous application and peer review process culminates in inducting into membership these ‘best of the best’ communicators and, according to Dr. Joseph Stabb, APR, chair of PRSA’s Educators Academy. To be considered, applicants must demonstrate superiority in the areas of leadership, advancement of the profession, mentoring, service and being a role model.
Bruhn will be formally inducted into the College of Fellows in a prestigious formal induction ceremony in October when she will be publicly recognized and presented with a medallion to be worn proudly.
