PRSA Membership is on the Rise

PRSA National leadership reported the organization’s membership is trending upward after a decline during the pandemic. As of Oct. 6, 2023, PRSA has 18,587 members.

More good news from the 2023 Leadership Assembly on Saturday, Oct. 14 included the following:

The PRSA member retention rate in 2023 is higher than early 2020 (pre-pandemic). PRSA is working on specific initiatives to retain first and second-year members.

PRSSA membership is also on an upward trend and is higher than 2020. Three new PRSSA Chapters were established in 2023.

PRSA group memberships are growing in popularity.

PRSA ICON registrations increased by more than 400 from 2022 to 2023.

PRSA Priorities

As the organization continues to recover from the pandemic, the leadership team has four main priorities.

  1. Grow PRSA and PRSSA membership.
  2. Recognize important issues and share them with members.
  3. Evolve technology and programs to enhance membership.
  4. Promote the PRSA Code of Ethics.

As a sign of the organization’s commitment to listening to its members, Chapter delegates met in the afternoon for small group discussion and feedback for PRSA leadership. These topics included items such as bylaw amendments, artificial intelligence and the PRSA Code of Ethics, and the role of delegates. PRSA is committed to sharing the input from these working sessions with Chapters. Expect to see more in the coming months.
